Your choice comes first
Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics load only after you choose “Allow analytics.” Rejecting is equally available. Before a choice, or after rejection, this site sends no analytics requests to Google.
Your choice is stored in this browser for up to 180 days. You can reopen Privacy settings in the footer at any time. Withdrawing consent removes this site’s accessible Google analytics cookies and reloads the page to stop the loaded Google code. It does not delete data already sent to Google.
What optional analytics measures
I use Google Analytics 4, delivered through Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors find and use my work:
- Visits to public pages, with their page title and the referring website’s domain when available.
- Clicks to start an AI, research, speaking or general email enquiry, and the section they came from.
- Clicks through to the book website, the Amazon paperback listing, or a publication summary, PDF or publisher.
An email click records an intention to get in touch, not a sent message or a completed project. A book link click is not recorded as a purchase.
Google may use analytics cookies, including names beginning with _ga, to recognise a browser and associate visits. Requests also provide Google with technical information such as your IP address and browser information. Google handles that information under its own policies.
The events I configure do not include names, email addresses, email contents, form answers, full referring addresses, or page query strings. Advertising storage, ad personalisation and advertising user data are disabled. This setup has no advertising pixels or session recording.
Who receives the information
Aron Bijl uses the analytics reports. Google provides the analytics service and processes the information sent to it. You can read Google’s privacy policy and its explanation of data from sites that use Google services.
Other browser storage and contact
The site can remember your display and motion preferences locally. Your privacy choice is also stored locally so you do not have to answer on each page. These preferences are separate from Google analytics cookies.
Your browser sends the information needed to request and display this site to its hosting service. If you email me, your message and contact details arrive through email and are used to respond to your enquiry; they are not part of these analytics events.
The separate book website, publisher pages and other external links have their own privacy arrangements. The analytics choice on this portfolio does not set your preferences on those sites.
Questions or a request about your data?
Contact Aron Bijl at me@aronbijl.com. You can also remove this site’s saved data through your browser settings; that clears its remembered analytics choice.
